*Hotaru isn't anywhere near court so we'll assume she sends Mazumi a nice letter with elegant caligraphy. So much is going on that this is in response to Mazumi's private meeting with Hotaru only*

Mazumi-sama,

You have my sympathies for your loss but I assure you that our clan has had no part in any theft of yours. Our clan may end up being accused of many things but thievery shall not be one of them. It is true that we took Hantei but you knew our army was coming long before it arrived. My Lord has given you the same courtesy this time by announcing his intent to invade your lands. If our clan truly wished to be deceitful then we would not have announced our intentions against your clan. Clearly it would have been to our advantage to launch a suprise attack. Should we glean any information concerning your theft we shall let you know. We would not see our enemy hamstringed by external interference. As we have no information to give to you we will say no more on this subject until such a time that we do have some information.

I fail to see what has brought dishonor upon myself and my clan. The palace of Hantei was fine until your clan made it into what it was. It offended me and I disposed of it. If destroying something brings dishonor, how do you wish to make amends for all the destruction my lands took at your clan's hands?

You are a man of words where I am a man of action. I will not play your word games for I will acknowledge in a battle of words you are superior. So I will make it very simple for you. If your honor feels so slighted that you require a duel then look for me on the battlefields of Naka when my army rolls over your lands. Should you wish to seek me out I shall be where soldiers make war, not in lofty comfort where words are thrown too easily. If fate must be tested then so be it. Join me on the fields of battle and let it be decided.

You will know when I have arrived in your lands. One way or another this will end between us be it through courage of sword, strength of heart or the force of will.

Since i hadn't checked the board until now I will ammend my missive to Morimoto to the following:

"Morimoto-san, I feel your words are uneducated and disrespectful, but this I personally take full responsibility for. I shall do the following to ease your worries. As it stands now I have told my clan to return to Mori, as the Regent on behalf of the Emperor has instructed the ocuppying clans to withdraw. Once there, I, Isawa Anzai, Isawa Yasukaza, Shiba Yobei, and any other Phoenix you chose as Emerald Champion will go with you where ever you deem fit, under your protection. There you may investigate us to your heart is content that we have created no foul. While there I leave the administration of my Clan to Hida Ken, a noble, brave, and responsible Crab. You may place any emerald magistrate of your choosing with him at all times if you do not trust him. While we are away I give you free reign to explore, investigate and document anything you find in Phoenix territories.
